I bought a new ice maker and optics board and found these instructions in the box. I was amazed that no one provided the instructions online.

If your ice maker is not working, read the written instructions before you do anything. There may be nothing wrong with your ice maker, but if there is, the instructions will help you know want is broken. It may be the ice maker or just the optics.

One added note. Our light was doing the blink twice, pause and repeat as if the optics had failed. I slid the switch fully off and then waited a minute a and then slid the switch fully on. I closed the door for 5 minutes and this seemed to reset the light. It is working now. The pdf helped a lot as well. Thanks!

Optic works when i push the flap down the light stays on. Light has 2 pulse when in off position. Freezer is making a buzzing noise every half hour to 1 hour as if its trying to make ice or somethings. I dont have water lines hooked up to it. I tried resetting but light still flashing. Any idea?

Does the fridge make a constant beeping sound when the light buld needs to be replaced?

Hello!! Two part question! First, I had my husband check the supply line to the fridge and cleaned any debris out of the main unit on the back. We got a filter that fits multiple models, since it was affordable. But it also matched the one that it replaced. Water dispenser works flawlessly with no filter in it, but once the filter is installed, the motor in the bottom shakes for a few seconds or so and then the water pressure is low. Currently looking for another filter that is direct fit for this unit. If that doesn’t fix what could it be?

Second question is when the flapper is down, the light is solid with no blinking. But the ice maker has never worked. Could it be frozen perhaps? We are stumped 😢

Hi, I changed the two Circuit boards on the side of the freezer walls, and now there is the steady red light, but when I press in the top freezer door light switch the red light turns off. Is this working properly?

Was blinking twice with one second delay. Got optics replaced both and still getting no ice and blinking twice. Any thoughts?

Thank you, very helpful! Do you know where to find instructions on how to remove the water line in the freezer door? I think it's frozen as the water won't come out anymore and no air goes through when I disconnect it at the bottom of the door.

I replaced my Optics because they were bad. Now when I do the test the solid red light comes on, but when I hit the switch like the door is close, it flashes 1 flashes constantly. Any recommendations? Also the motor for the ice maker was replaced. The water line seems clear. Motor doesn't go into harvest mode

Thank you - took a second to find the link but I did. So, I have the 2 flashing lights on the right side and it turns solid red when I hold the flapper down on teh left side. Based on the attached optics diagnosis docoument I assume everything is ok? I just dont remember ever seeing the flashing red light before.

Replaced water filter and no ice has been made since then. My lights are flashing and I'm not sure if that is correct. I have a KitchenAid side-by-side circa 2011. ANY help is MUCH appreciated.

Our “on / off” slide button is stuck on “ON”. How do I get it to slide again? Red light is also flashing twice.

If someone accidentally blows up the emitter, can you just turn the recieved off with that off switch and will it function?

I have a solid red light when I depress the flapper, I've already cleaned the lenses, I just reset the power by tripping the circuit breaker for a minute and it is still not making ice
