RIP Flash Light Trick! You can no longer do it... :(

I'm sure many of you have seen this already, but we just want to be transparent with you all... Galaxy's Edge now has new packaging in place to eliminate using your flashlight on your phone or DATA-PAD to find the Black Kyber Crystal. It's a bummer but was inevitable... We just wanted to be transparent with you guys and let you know that you can no longer do the flashlight trick.

I bought a red for my daughter's birthday today and we lucked out. Such a cool birthday for her

Some crystals are still in the older packaging. Today I used the light from my phone and was told it wasn't allowed, so I held the crystal to the light that was part of the display. The cast member snatched the crystal out of my hand and scolded me as if I were shoplifting or something. I just laughed and walked off. Clearly there is a demand for the black crystals, they just need to create a separate space for them and sell them to people who want one.

Honestly, the whole thing is just kinda dumb. Like it doesn’t change the color, it’s smokes voice (a character I don’t care for personally) and you have a 1/300 chance of getting it. And if you’re REALLY determined to get it, then chances are you’re either going to have to buy like 20 reds unless you get lucky or spend $400 on ebay.

To me, it just doesn’t seem worth it. It’s also a thing that with a couple of computer accessories and the sound fonts in the black crystal, you couldn’t just program it to make those dialogues and paint it black. Granted that’s a lot of work, but it’s probably cheaper than any other method to be honest.

Also makes it annoying because now people are buying up all the reds in the land, making it hard to even get a regular red crystal at all. Sucks if you don’t care about the holocron aspect and you just want the saber color.

Not all packages have been fixed! I was just there this weekend and discovered a Black Kyber on my sixth try using a flashlight at the Holocron display area. BTW, I noticed the inserted black note has the word "unnatural" misspelled as "unatural". My guess is that Disney has put a packing change to fix the light source reveal. Can anyone confirm that the spelling error has been corrected in the note that comes with a Black Kyber crystal?

Fun fact the black kyber crystal used to be owned by the mandalors before being stolen by a sith. It was then said that the crystal would only chose one who's hatred and desire for revenge was fit enough.

And then of course we all knew who found it and wilded it. Darth maul after having his legs cut off by obi wan was filled with hatred and revenge. He would dule kenobi once again but only to be stabed in the chest and die.

If you put the flash light at the vary top you can see inside

You can use an rfid reader/writer to change any crystal to think it’s any color

This still works if you have a super bright flashlight. You just can't get away with doing it sneakily.

I spoke to cast member in Disneyland from looks of it they told me you can only get black crystal from darth Vader gold lid capsules now instead random red idk if gold lid ones are new or not. Since all Vader capsules have gold lids now
