So, the reason the black kyber shows as red is because of sith alchemy. In the lore that is the only way to get a black cyber or a black lightsaber blade (no, not the dark saber. More so the ones from Star Wars the Old Republic where the blade is black but the edges are red). There is really no functional difference other than it being a more powerful blade with the one who used sith alchemy on it.

The kyber itself may not have special effects with the lightsaber, but it does in the holocrons. Not only that, but for the people who think you can buy it separately for a bigger price... You can't. It's hidden in the red kyber pods. It's just a special surprise thing. It has no functional difference beyond holocrons and displays.

Thanks for posting this video! I was looking through all the vials looking for the black crystal. Also, thanks for clarifying what the black crystal does. I assumed it would be impossible/difficult to portray a black lightsaber.

I remember they used to sell black bladed lightsabers online. They would have the leds light up black.. not pitch black but a shade above it. Like yt darkmode black.

I guess they didn’t read the note that came with the capsule it was in because it tells you it comes out red but makes a unique sound when activated also spoiled that not a kyber Crystal just obsidian Imbued with the dark side which is also said on the note

Still a magical find! Gotta do your research my dude. I just got a black kyber crystal myself after 5 try’s I think Disney made the odds better than for before obtaining the black kyber crystal. There are some videos about it. It would be an awesome move made it so the crystal makes it like a black light lightsaber!

I half expected to see a white outline but the second I saw the red light up in the crystal, I knew it wasn't what I hoped. Still, pretty neat. Always wanted one myself, custom lightsaber. Abzu, emerald or amethyst as mains. Reds are so dull dull dull. #legendsforlife
