I remember meeting Waheed Murad in 1982 at Mideast Hospital, which is now Ocean Mall in Karachi. I was admitted to the hospital for surgery and was only 12 years old. Everyone in the hospital was fond of me. A nurse at Mideast Hospital insisted that I should meet Waheed and took me to his room, where he was lying on his bed wearing a hospital gown. We met, and he said 'Salam' to me. I then asked him, 'Who are you?' He replied, 'I am Waheed Murad.' Later on, I saw a tall actor named Mohammed Ali also come to visit him.

جناب میں نے آپ کا پروگرام پہلی مرتبہ دیکھا اور سنا۔ دیکھنے اور سننے کی پہلی وجہ وحید مراد کی شخصیت تھی مگر ارادہ تھا کہ چند الفاظ یا ایک مرتبہ وحید مراد کا نام سنوں گا پھر آپ کا پروگرام کٹ کرکے کوئی اور اگلا پروگرام دیکھوں گا ۔ مگر جناب آپ نے تو ایک مقناطیسی جادوگر کا کام کیا جیسے جیسے آپ کو سنتا ایک دو بار محسوس کیا کہ جیسے وحید مراد کو اپنے وجود کا حصہ پایا۔ اشک بار آنکھوں سے وحید مراد کی زندگی کی بہترین عکاسی کرنے پر دل کی گہرائیوں سے شکریہ ادا کرتا ہوں۔صدا سلامت رہیں ۔
باقی رہی بات وحید مراد کی مانتا ہوں کہ اس کی زندگی عروج و زوال کے ساتھ ساتھ دکھوں کی بھی آمیزش تھی پروفیشنل اور گھریلو۔ مگر میں آج یقین سے کہہ سکتا ہوں کہ کسی اداکار کے مرنے کے بعد اتنا عروج بھی کسی اداکار کے نصیب میں نہیں آیا اور آئیندہ بھی کبھی نہ آئے۔
