My students use mathway, symbolab, and photo math for worked out math stuff. ChatGPT was super cool for creating problems. I asked it to create a related rates problem and it did. It’s always difficult to create those applications so that’s awesome. I don’t really care that students use this stuff. It can be used for good when they are stuck and it’s not like they can use it on the exams

Actually, the solution to problem 1 is all x>1, and not all real numbers. That's because log(x-1) only makes sense if x-1>0.

I tried something really basic to see if I could trust it or not. I did i^4 and I think it gave me -1 or -i, or something. From then I immediately knew it wouldn't be good for getting exact answers that I can count on.

The solution at 1:54 would not be all real numbers. You need to consider extraneous solutions - for instance, consider x=0. Here, the solution would be all values strictly greater than 1. The AI probably gave two as this is the first integer solution.

Solution for first equation should not be nos from -1 to 1 since log will be undefined for those values

You should make a follow up with Chat GPT 4, ask it the exact same prompts and see if it's improved and/or fixed the errors.
Then throw it some new curveballs like "solve all of theoretical physics" or "calculate the probability of my dad returning with the milk 20+ years later"

I agree that for creating the problems was handy.

I got some 2x2 linear systems of eqs. from the AI, then I requested the AI to give me the solutions and the solutions provided were wrong.

When it cames to math I would use this tool for creating the problems only.

The first anz you are doing wrong.
as the x in log x is impossible to equal to 0 or negative
therefore the anz should be
any real numbers but not equal to -1 to +1

Hey, it not right the solution to the third log problem is all real numbers. You need to make sure that x and x+1 to be positive in order log x and log x+1 make sense. Hence the solution is the set of all positive real numbers.

Chachi PT is no help in calculus two it will help you if you don’t understand the concept but nine times out of 10 the problems are wrong my best guess is that it was trained on a lot of Quizlet and shag answers and half of those are wrong so it’s logic is probably a little messed up when it comes to calculus lol

The problem is that they want a single super-intelligent model rather than a specialized model. If you had one specialized in math it would do better.
