Republicans Storm Closed-Door Democratic Impeachment Hearing

Oct.24 -- A group of Republicans stormed into a secure room Wednesday at the Capitol, disrupting a hearing of the Democrats’ impeachment inquiry of President Donald Trump. Bloomberg’s Derek Wallbank reports on "Bloomberg Surveillance."

When you can no longer argue the evidence, you attack the accuser(s) and the process, which is a fact that is resoundingly louder than all this ridiculous squawking. This is only meant to confuse, misinform and anger those who don't fully understand the process; it isn't a trial so you don't get those things yet. PERIOD.

Let me give you a hypothetical. Let’s say you’re a teenager and your mom incorrectly suspects you’re hiding drugs in your room. She wants to go into your room and search it. Since you aren’t hiding any drugs, you have no problem letting the search run its course because you’re confident that you’ll come out unscathed.

But let’s say you instead act outraged by the very idea of your mom searching your room. You call it a sham and accuse your mom of trying to get you in trouble for nothing. So you call all your friends and have them storm your house to block your mom from entering your room at all costs. They say over and over again that a search is pointless because there’s nothing to see, but absolutely will not let your mom enter that room to even check. How innocent does that make you look?

This process is an Impeachment INQUIRY (official investigation) not an Impeachment HEARING (an opportunity to state one's case).  The Republicans who are lawyers know the difference between the two steps.  When a person is suspected or accused of a crime, an INVESTIGATION is conducted, where interviewing witnesses, gathering statements and collecting evidence are done.  When a person is charged of a crime, a hearing is conducted, where oral arguments such as the admissibility of evidence are done.    If both the Democrats and the Republicans are currently participating in the INQUIRY process, why is being viewed as "secret impeachment HEARINGs"?  Unfortunately, the words INQUIRY and HEARING being used interchangeably by the news and press, is misleading.
