The Volkswagen Arteon Is the Last Truly European VW Sold in the US

I really liked the Volkswagen Arteon. It's a great looking car in a compelling form factor, provided you aren't looking for an SUV. Sure it's a little pricey, and there are always long-term reliability questions with any VW, but overall the Arteon gives you a premium car experience inside and out. And it's a hatchback!

I have the same year, trim and color and absolutely love this car. I get so many people asking what car it is and can’t believe that it is a VW

I've had my Arteon since 2021. Absolutely love it. I've even got up to 34 MPG on the highway. It's comfortable, roomy, and reliable. No issues. Since VW is killing it in the states in 2024, I'm going to upgrade to a S5 or RS5 after I've had it for a few years. Your Arteon is just gorgeous with that red paint. I have the Metallic black color that doesn't show off those curves as well.

As a first owner of CC since Feb 2015, I will say that yes Arteon too is not meant for the typical American buyer. If you are not into Audi - BMW race because of money or don't want to be a servant of madly expensive brands, like creating your own standards and appreciate premium / stand out vehicles, Arteon is for you. I continue to love our CC 2.0T Exec, gives a smile of satisfaction and pride every day. One bonus with CC and Arteon, you will scarcely see another.

I'd narrowed my next car to the VW Arteon and Acura TLX.. You reviewed both Outstandingly! The 2022 VW Arteon is edging out the TLX after watching your videos. The back hatch and rear legroom are important factors for me. Thank you!

You did a lot of homework on this review! Great job!

Only quad exhaust vehicle in existence that not only tries to hide that fact, but make it appear to have the same fake exhaust outlets found on many VW/Audi products these days. Thats literally the only true misstep they made with the exterior though, very well executed.

I rented one in France a few months ago. It was an R-Spec 4Motion, fully loaded. When I returned to America I toyed with building an Arteon on the VW site and was shocked to see how de-contented the American top version is. Why does VW continue to dumb down our products? I mean is a HUD really to much for us to enjoy on this thing?

I pick up my custom built 2022 Arteon tomorrow… I had the 2017 model and got rid when it was parked on my drive endlessly due to C-19. So happy I’m getting it back, and a new edition that looks stunning. Your vid has got my hyped for sure! (UK owner)

You can swipe the touch controls; when you get used to it, it’s actually pretty easy and intuitive to use. 👍

I'm buying a Arteon this weekend. I drove it yesterday and loved it. I drove a Honda Accord also. Just so much more premium. Even the wife agreed. She drives a Audi SQ5 and Arteon was Audi like.

Excited to see the '22 getting the HP bump + DSG which... appx. 5 people will know about. Certainly a if you know, you know kind of vehicle.

I'm an ex GTI owner, my father still has his CC marching towards 110K on the odom, I have so many different suggestions for him for when the time comes lol, but my heart comes back to this purely for how unique/rare it is.

I looked at this Arteon in this same color this past Tuesday and I may test drive it (previous owner was a car salesman at my local used car dealership and he upgraded to a Benz)

I had a CC in 2016, an Arteon in ‘20 and now a‘23, looking for a ‘24; no sedan out there as sleek and beautiful as an Arteon, and the best part of it, you’re part of a select few on the road; you see more expensive cars on the road than an Arteon; I like its uniqueness. 🤭

I bought a 22 about a week ago. Looked at Audi q3, q5, and bmw x1. This was so much better. I did buy my first vw in 1978, , , a Dasher.

I have owned VW's since 1981 and never had reliability issues... (2) Sciroccos, Jetta, Jetta Wagon, Golf Diesel, GTI, Golf R, and Arteon... No Issues... I have also owned several Audi's, no difference.

I get what you’re saying. I myself miss the Touareg.

I just built a similarly optioned Arteon on a European configurator and the pricetag is 65 545 euros (73721 dollars). Mind you that it has a 2.0 TSI with 190 hp and not 268 like in the US and it has a 7 speed DSG and not the 8 speed tiptronic. As well as in the US you get more standard options.
