Holy Thursday in the Holy Sepulchre

Praise Him with resounding cymbals; praise
Him with triumphant cymbals; let everything that
breathes praise the Lord.
All creation trembled when it saw You
crucified, O Christ. The foundations of the
earth quaked from fear of Your power. When
You were lifted on the Cross today, the
Hebrew race perished, the Temple Veil was
rent in two; tombs were opened, and the dead
resurrected from their graves. The centurion
shuddered when he saw the miracle. Your
Mother, who was standing there, cried a
maternal lamentation: "How can I not mourn
and beat my breasts, seeing You hanging on a
cross, naked, as though a criminal?" O Lord,
who were crucified and buried, and who rose
from the dead, glory to You!
