First recorded by Bing Crosby, from his 1937 film WAIKIKI WEDDING. No copies of the film are known to exist since the war. In 1961, the song was resurrected by Elvis Presley in his film of the same title, which most people today remember it by.

Ha! ha! So you were given Stan as your second name? Nice of you to have viewed some more, Bill - very much appreciated. Good to know you have an appreciation for the Hawaiian steel guitar!!

Thank you for your nice comment, Leda! Most Hawaiian style players seem to choose the C6th as their main tuning, though I tend to vary quite a lot. For Hawaiian style, I think that you can't go far wrong by choosing the E7th to begin with, which can be modified to C#minor7th by tuning the 2nd string up from B to C#. I've never been a huge fan of Jerry, preferring the Hawaiians of the 1940's/'50s myself. I hope this will help you along!!

Beautiful work Stan. Nice slants. Were you a Jerry Byrd fan? What tunings do you like? Sorry for so many questions but I’m kind of a newbie. Though I’m not young.
