Today I do a quick tutorial on how to install your memory, then set it up either manually or by using XMP profiles to ensure it's running at optimal speed, timings, and voltage.

According to the video, set your ram up to run at the fastest frequency, the lowest latency and the lowest voltage.
Adjusting voltage, frequency, and the memory multiplier are all possible options that can be modified within BIOS.
Changing these options can have an impact on the PC and how it runs. Overclocking RAM for example may decrease the life of the RAM or computer because it can cause the memory or the components to run at higher temperatures than the manufacturers rated specifications.

Thanks for the video.  It helped to guide me in manual configuration.  You could go a bit slower, in particular on your clicking and dismissing warnings and messages.  People who are not familiar with the process are very interested in anything that comes up.  We don't know if it's trivial or important, unless you tell us or at least give us time to read the screen! :-)

I'm having issues installing a shed load more ram now that I finally upgraded to Win 7 - this has been a big help in getting that ram sorted thanks.

@Sipulipantteri First all timings, speed, and voltage to stock and then run prime95/memtest4 and see if it runs without freezing or erroring. Also check your case to make sure all wires are tight and not shorted anywhere and check for any spilled thermal paste shorting something. Then overclock and test each part one at a time.
