Man this somehow looks so wholesome and just plain good old innocent fun. My type of fun.

As a real german you must state that the fortune cookie says: "please help me, I'm captive in a fortune cookie factory". Silvester classic

"Am I getting a dog next year?"
Ah yes, the best kind of fortune— the kind you can fufill yourself.

A dog! I think that symbolizes friendships and loyalty. You will be surrounded by the benefits of such in the coming year!

If you also had watched "Dinner for one" you would had celebrated the most German New Years Eve which exists.

A party where you hang with friends and eat food together without anyone getting drunk and annoying, my type of fun.

You forgot the part where everyone gets drunk and the 87 year old neighbor calls the police to file a noise complaint

I love how cosy that all seems. My German gf brought the tradition of raclette with her to Sweden, and now it is my tradition too (Swedes do not have any real food tradition for New Years, so it really fitted like hand in glove).

True, thats very common in germany. We also did Raclette yesterday and played a board game named Risiko

German style New Year's Eve looks very fun! In Japan we (my family) eat soba, watch music show on TV, go to temple to ring bells at midnight, drink amazake rice drink.

As a German, I just have to say I love seeing your views on our "traditions" and on things that are normal to us but unusual for anyone who is foreign 😊🎉 Happy new year

That looked like a wonderful evening. We are Mexican and I never realized how superstitious we are too. 😂 We have, "lucky foods" we eat at midnight. I make everyone eat 12 grapes. One for each month of the year. To make each month a sweet one. Also, everyone must have at least a teaspoon of black eyed peas. The salt to keep you grounded. And lastly, a cup of chaporrado. To warm the soul and fill you with love to share throughout the year. And ofcourse the celebration isn't complete without menudo and tamales 😋. Thanks for sharing this moment with us!

Nothing wrong with getting drunk and having a blast! But this seems so sweet and genuine. Love it, my kind of vibe.❤

Cheese is a uniting ingredient that brings all food and people together and makes everything taste more delicious… except maybe if you are lactose intolerant but even then it’s so good that sometimes you just soldier on, consequences be damned

I've been privileged to travel the world and have lived on three continents. I absolutely love discovering new cultures and part of that is participating in holidays. The various foods and games and toasts make it even more of a magical one with friends from different cultures! Happy New Years everyone!

Raclette is originally a Swiss dinner but it is now popular in Germany as well. On the other hand German Currywurst also became popular in Switzerland.
