She is called coloured in SA. Why would people in other parts of the world get to dictate terminology for different races in different countries? Coloured is not a derogatory term in South Africa.

We are Africans and not Americans!
When Tyla says she is coloured, we in Africa know what she means; it simply means that she is proud of her mixed race heritage!

In South Africa its not derogatory....in SA colored is an ethicity for mixed people.

I think whoever states Tyla as uneducated needs to educate themselves about South African culture, you have alot to learn. I'm proudly colored ❤

I just think as Americans, referring to other Americans, need to realize there’s a whole world outside of our country where race doesn’t matter and isn’t acknowledged in the same way and that people do stuff wayyy different than the US. Just because it’s done in the states doesn’t mean it’s law and that everyone everywhere else just follows everything we do here

We refer to mixed and light skinned people as colored in South Africa and Namibia. She is not ignorant. Why must we change now to be please anyone? This is how it has been for years here, how about ya'll also try and understand our culture.

Coloured people were initially a mix between Blacks, Whites and Asian people in South Africa. They were then segregated to their own communities and after decades of just procreating amongst themselves another race was given birth. This race mean't they were no longer directly mixed with any other race as they were now breeding amongst themselves. A coloured person in South Africa doesn't have 2 parents or grandparents of different races; they just have parents, grandparents and great great parents who are Coloured. They developed their own accent, dialect and culture that is only exclusive to the Coloured people of South Africa.

Proud coloured from South Africa right here 🤷🏽‍♂And yes, we're an actual cultural group.

Wtf, she is referring to herself. Why are people trying to cancel her over her explaining her own race.
One time I called myself Mulatto in describing myself, as I am half black and half white. So many people had a fit, EXCEPT for me, the person being described

Tyler is not ignorant, it’s the people who are criticising her who are ignorant.

Dear America. You don't own linguistic terms and definitions thereof. Coloured in her culture means something entirely different to what it means in yours.

Colored is an actual race here in South Africa

Moral of the story, stay away from social media.

I'm beginning to believe in Africa we are mored educated and exposed to other people's cultures more than they are exposed to ours. Guys, pick up a book and read. You will understand that sometimes what you need to cancel is your own stupidity and lack of knowledge

The irony in people calling her ignorant is crazy. She's is South African, not from America, you can't expect her to know the history of the word in our country. If people used their brain for two seconds they'd put two and two together and realize the word must not be offensive in her country.

She definitely doesn't need to be cancelled. I really believe this is a cultural thing. I'm from West Africa but grew up in California and back in Africa as we speak. That's the term they use in South Africa, and it's perfectly acceptable. Remember they went through Apartheid, so the remnants of that is what her generation is used to and speaks about herself accordingly. That simple.🤷🏿‍♀️

So the narrator even read the comments from south Africans saying it's the term they use and then went on to call her ignorant. Great job!

Just leave the young coloured girl alone. Lastly, please respect our country. 🇿🇦
