This is The only method. It took over two hours a piece. My headlight housings were so bad i was looking at replacement. Using this method i was able to totally restore my lights to factory freshr. It made for a huge difference driving aþ nigt. 🎉

I followed this method and it worked as expected and looked fantastic. After applying the sealant, and buffed, one of the lights (passenger - 2nd light I did) now has a couple of hazy spots in the corners. Should I re-do the process on that lamp, or just do the compounding / polishing / sealing steps? Thanks!

Thanks very much. I learned why my previous efforts were unsatisfactory.

Would you be able to do a 10th gen Civic restoration? It's not a "flat" surface like all the headlights I've been seeing restored. There's a bump in the physical headlight and I'm trying to make sure I do it evenly.

Hey Chemical Guys Team, just wanted to let you know that, to this day, this is THE best headlight restoration video I've seen. I use these steps and your products. I've followed the steps on this video to the T and it really does work. The only observations I have are the following, the guy doesn't present himself in the Intro. I'd like to know who is the person showing me the steps. Observation two is, the grit sandpaper he uses on step 2, which he states is 3500 grit, it's nowhere to be found. Most places have 2500, 3000 and then jumps to 5000. I mainly use the 3000 which is good but I'd like to use the right one.

Question, will using a 5000 grit work if I don't have/find a 3500 grit?

Love all the videos you guys post and hope to hear from you soon.

Thank you for this video, Nick. I've already wetsanded both lenses but I don't have any "correction polish" or "compounds" to finish the process. Can you please tell me what exactly you used so I can order them. 👍

Just did this and it made a HUGE difference. Headlights are as close to new as they'll get.

wouldnt it be recommened to use a none yellowing uv clear coat sealer as a final step?

Everyone has an opinion, but no one has done any real testing. Clear coat paint is said to crack or go bad and a bad idea as clear is for metal painted surfaces and not clear plastic. Others say the only way to fix is to sand with multiple grits of sand paper. Yet others claim simple solutions from bug spray to tooth paste to baking soda and WD-40. Someone should get like 20 headlights (all aged the same with the same hazing) and restore each in a particular way and then allow them to sit in the sunlight for 6 months to see which method A.) Did the best job restoring B.) held up the best. THEN I will believe a particular method works.

Awesome job on cleaning the haze off the headlights! My 2008 Ford F-150 side windows have haze from years of use. Would that be the proper procedure to use to remove the haze from the windows?

good video and good job restoring the headlights. What "grit" would the foam pads be rated at if they had grit ratings? I see you used orange and white pads. is there any value to using blue, black or red pads in the restoring process? Thanks
