I had an increased water bill $90 and thought it was because we were helping wash laundry for a family member and his family one month. Then when the next bill came and it was $300 we knew it was a leak. County came and checked said no leak on their side so we had family member come and he couldn’t find leak. So had my niece’s husband come out with his excavator and he dug up front yard, crawled under house and finally determined it was the pipes being so old so he replaced the whole line from house to meter. $600 just for the supplies. Then bless him, he wouldn’t let me pay for labor. Got the next bill for a little over $100 then next was back to normal at $40. Threw my budget in such a tailspin. Only takes one thing.

Hey Sis! When we had a leak once we got it fixed and showed the bill to our water company they forgave the bill. Maybe you’ll can do the same bc $700 is crazy and they be knowing, just fleecing folks!

I’m not sure if someone mention this. Call your water and sewer company and let them know that you had a leak and they will prorate your bill.
