Family comes first, I agree with you. With how good of a car doctor you are, the jobs will always be there.

Totally felt that Alex man. We fall so deep into a craft because we love it. And as a fellow Service Tech theres no better feeling then bringing something back to life and on time for our customers. But we gotta get back to the kiddos👌

Family is the most important. There always will be another repair, but time with your family is more precious, so don’t miss out on spending as much time as you can with them. When given the choice of things you can buy them or spending time with them, they will pick you spending time with them.

Don’t have to stop taking the jobs just remember your business hours and stick to them. If the customer can’t respect those work hours then too bad. They can wait for the job to be completed in a reasonable time or they can go somewhere else. It’s great to be compassionate and want to help people but don’t do it at the expense of spending time with your own family. I’ve been guilty of doing that myself in the past but that’s something I’ve had to fix in my own life. I’ve learned that everyone needs their vehicles RIGHT NOW but none of them are going to pay you extra to stay late to get it done early for them either.

Great job brother, family always comes first...once I hit flat rate I was constantly staying late shooting for 14-16hrs, now I'm cleaning up my box and stall by 4:15 and I'm washed up and out by 4:30😂

Me too! That GM engine and the 3.6 got to be made side by side. My daughter had a Wrangler that she loved, but after the 3 rd lifter job, all under warranty, but Jeep only covered the first one, that was enough. She now drives a Toyota4Runner and she’s more than satisfied……

Started coming across your shorts. They are great. Do you have videos of the entire job? I could most defiantly watch them.

Alex I have a question for you about this. I recently bought a 2017 LTZ. It has now approximately 27, 000 on the clock. I am really concerned about keeping it. Any longer. Those valves have me concerned. No noise out of it yet Mobil 1 oil change at regular intervals. Once a year or 10, 000 miles. I have changed the thermostat in the transmission to a cooler one. Everything works. And the mileage is running about 23 combined( empty). I’ve added so many extras lights, bedrug, etc. I just wonder if I’m wasting my time and money. Waiting for the valves to let go. I like the new Dodge p/up and the Chevy also. Are any of the new ones free from this problem? I didn’t know about this problem before I bought it. I know that you’re not a wizard and can’t see into the future. But what do you or anyone else think 🤔 about keeping it?

Work always comes you only get 1 go around with family. Especially the kids....you only get to experience their ages one time that's why you gotta be there as much as you can while they grow!

Whats causes the lifters to break apart like that? The dod / afm system? And what years are affected? First ive seen this

That's why my mechanic no longer does engine work. He just gets the simple things pushes them out basic things suspension. He doesn't do any engine replacements or stuff like that that takes too long.

Do all GM 5.3 trucks have this lifter issue or is it only the flex fuel? I have a 2008 Chevy Silverado LT sounds like it has a slight tick.
