Thanks for all this information. I like all of those plants. Especially Russian Sage which I've never grown but always admire in gardens. The tip about Autumn Joy changing color in the sun was fascinating.

Awesome video and selections; all of these also attract tons of pollinators and make a bee-friendly garden. I have “Bleeding Hearts” Heliopolis which is orange/red flower snd dark foliage, and it’s one of the best performing and lovely drought tolerant perennials in our zone 3!

I like all your choices Jacqueline. I would also include peonies in that selection. Great for the heat and the cold. Bonny

Hi Jacqueline, you've nailed it with drought tolerant choices for our growing zone in my opinion. One of my favorites that you mentioned is sedums. They are pretty versatile because I have Autumn Joy for height and Dragons Blood which has made a nice ground cover for me. Thanks for this video.

I think I met you at Home Depot in Regina… We both were looking for discounted plants. I see you found yourself a few $3 goodies, shown in your videos, lucky you!! I love Russian Sage, blanket flower, sedum and echinacea.

I hope the Russian Sage survives the winter for you. -34 isn’t zone three, I tried twice and they died. Here’s hoping for you though. Manitoba 🇨🇦🌸

Could your dark Sedum be a different variety like After Dark or Strawberry Milkshake? I have some Autumn Joy in my back and front yard for over a decade and my front yard sedum is in full sun all day long and it stays green just like the one in the back yard. I do see that you have some green showing on your foliage, I do believe this has weirdly changed colour on you. Perhaps mine isn't Autumn Joy as I believed for many years. In any case, Sedums are a great addition to any garden as they offer a compact shape with texture.

What variety of dianthus was that? I really like the colour of the foliage.
