Trusty’s “overdue library book” analogy isn’t a defense, it’s a confession. These are stolen library books, not legally checked out. And people pay fines for overdue library books, especially if the library had to send the FBI to retrieve them.

I would have never assumed that those photos were of the documents scattered around because that's how Trump left them, but now that he's going out of his way to deny that I just have to assume he absolutely did.

I think it's insane that damage to someone's reputation is considered as a reason to do anything at all in court, much less appoint a special master.

If I had stolen dozens of Top Secret/SCI documents, I don't think that I would have been able to hold onto them for a year and a half and then pick my own judge to handle the case once they were finally recovered.

As I recall, it's very difficult to charge a judge with obstruction. That being said, really feeling like she's coming very close to it.

I love the “if they can do this to a former president think of what they can do to you” statement. My man, I don’t believe the average American citizen is going to be raided for the illegal possession of classified government documents 😂

The fact that he was more concerned about the photos implication of his cleanliness than admitting it’s evidence of him actually HAVING classified documents he shouldn’t have is mind boggling

The fact that we are now witnessing a former president arguing that the DOJ planted documents in his home during a raid, but he kept those documents secure before the raid even happened and he had declassified these documents before they ever reached Mar-a-Lago, but he still needs a third party to review the illegally planted evidence that he declassified and took good care of before they were planted because it would hurt his reputation, and all of that is being taken as a serious legal debate right now shows why this country is so screwed.

As a former records office supervisor, a room with a lock is not enough for documents that need special protection. That room had to be certified to a level of being a vault - surrounding walls, floor and ceiling made of concrete or cinder blocks. I hope that basement room came close to that level.

As a non-native English speaker; since the beginning for this year. I've learn so many new English words and terms I never knew existed. Words like, affadavit, plaintiff, subpoena, and Special Master. To my mind Trump is screwing around with the justice system in America, and he should not be allowed to.
