To put it briefly, I'll still be covering LOTR though I will also be focusing on other works of fantasy, games and Mythology

Wow, first video about Greek myths in Geekzone and also I can't stop listenning to the Grommash Hellscream music in your channel. It's so memorable.

There’s only so much LOTR to cover. I like this branching off.

There is a similarity to the Adam and Eve story as well. As taking the fruit from Eve unleash the fall of man. It can also be argued that hope is one of the evils in the box as well, because often hope is fruitless.

It is also often argued that hope is not a blessing or a kindness, but another curse. Hope is what causes people to carry on living and prolong the suffering brought about by the other curses, and that without hope humanity would have eventually died out.

I was a bit nervous about this channel moving away from Tolkien content, but this venture into Greek myth is really quite nice.

Now I finally know the story of Pandora’s box after all these years thanks for the lesson I always heard the wording used so many times that I never actually understood the origin but now I do now my questions have been answered looking forward to more

Awesome 🤩 I love to learn more about the Greek Mythology, all I know right now is from the Percy Jackson books and I know that while most of it is true to the legends, not all is right and there are many more stories to tell.

This is a good direction to take the channel in, and really you are staying on the broad topic of fantasy/mythological "lore". You can only make so many vidoes about a narrow genre like a single fantasy universe. Content creators need to make sure they are always in the position to transition, and deal with potential fallout from changing the direction of their channels. You dont want to be getting "pimped out by your content" where you have to make X content or fear becoming bankrupt. If you do that, you will eventually quit all together, or resent making content so much that the quality of the forced content drives people away anyway.

This isn't just a story about the explanation for bad stuff it's also a cautionary tale of why foresight is nessiseary since Prometheus means foresight and he can also see into the future while his brother's name means hindsight

When the fellowship is at Amon Hen and giving Frodo an hour to decide what's next, when Boromir disappears from among the other 6 and confronts Frodo, it's because of the power of the ring that neither Legolas nor Strider observed him leaving?

Zeus: "Hey, here's this box. Whatever you do, don't open it"
Pandora: "Okay, but what's in it?"
Zeus: "...shut up"

Jar yes or a vessel for something holy like oil ( incense) i think there was another kind for shipping grain or olive oil and other things. But less expensive.

The Inkling folk, Tolkien, Lewis, et al, point out that the pagan mythos's (or whatever the plural is of the word) can be just as profound as the Judeo-Christian narratives.

I remember once hearing a comparison between Mesopotamian and Jewish myth (in the sense of supernatural and not merely fable) the gods of the pantheon created humanity primarily to offer up sacrifices, but the One God primarily wanted someone more on the order of...offspring.

I am of course an ardent monotheist, but don't feel like excessively defaming the other pantheon dwellers.

It does call to mind though the depiction of Zeus in Beethoven's Pastorale in the original Disney Fantasia...he gleefully leered, presumably at the centaur-ettes (to coin a word) and with cruel glee lobbed thunderbolts, particularly at Bacchus.

Hope is the worst thing that could have been saved. Why, because can be wonderful and crippling at the same time. Hope is the only thing greater than fear. Hope is also the one thing that can make someone continue feeling great and lost.

If Zeus wanted to keep the box safe, he should’ve placed it in a temple filled with deadly traps, and place the temple on a mountain that’s chained to the back of a titan that crawls in a desert endlessly 😆
