Pandora NEVER opened “Pandora’s Box”❓ #shorts

You know what? I actually like that it’s a jar. Makes it seem like they were stored to be used later rather than left to the side or trapped in a box. Gives a more foreshadowing version of the story. But Greek mythology is very blurry so there could even be a third version of the story. The box, the jar, and the….. seems like a nice concept to me

As a Greek student that has finished the greek 12th grade, I can inform you that there are some ancient writers and philosophers that believe Epimetheus opened the box. Epimetheus was a Titan and he was very impulsive (as opposed to his brother, Prometheus) and inconsiderate of the results his actions would have, so he opened Pandora's box out of curiosity, which brought every evil thing to the world.

wasn't she made by the gods as the first woman, and they made her curious, and told her not to open the box? And then her "womanly curiosity" got the best of her and she opened her jar and everything came out except one thing, which I cannot remember... I'll have to check my books lol

Pandora, whose name means "giver of all things" was, according to the greek poet Hesoid, the first woman. She was fashioned of earth and water by the god Hephaestus on Zeus's instruction, and she was created as retribution for Prometheus's assistance to humankind, (stealing fire from the gods, and tricking Zeus into accepting the lesser portion of a sacrificial animal) Hermes made her shameless and deceitful and gave her the power of speech (among other gifts from gods and goddesses like Athena, Aphrodite, The hours AKA Horae) Pandora was not offered to Prometheus (Foresight), who would have foretold her misfortune, but gave her to his brother, Epimetheus (Hindsight) No sooner did Epimetheus take possession of her than she opened an chest (the jar) that she had been given and had been instructed not to open. Out flew many things that would be blessings for humankind but also sorrow, disease, and all manners of suffering that humans had not previously known. One thing only remained stuck under the chest's lid (the Jar), that being hope.

In italian we call it "vaso di pandora" wich actually means pandora jar so I already knew it

pandora was givin a box(aka the jar) she was told not to open it. one day pandora got curious so she opened the jar and all the bad things of the world came out(murder, crime ect) but at the end hope came out
