"Autumn Leaves" is a much-recorded popular song. Originally it was a 1945 French song "Les Feuilles mortes" with music by Joseph Kosma and lyrics by poet Jacques Prévert. Autumn Leaves became a pop standard and a jazz standard in both languages and both as an instrumental and with a singer.

On December 24, 1950, French singer Edith Piaf rendered both French and English versions of this song on the radio programme The Big Show, hosted by Tallulah Bankhead.

The falling leaves drift by the window
The autumn leaves of red and gold
I see your lips, the summer kisses
The sun-burned hands I used to hold
Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I'll hear old winter's song
But I miss you most of all, my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall

Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I'll hear old winter's song
But I miss you most of all, my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall

What a voice she had. If there was autotune in her days she wouln´t need it. Well we had Whitney Houston, even she´s gone. Well Edith piaf isn´t a legend for nothing, she had her voice, and a tragic life i heard. She was great.
