Lazy susans have been around forever because a good susan properly installed is still the most elegant and cost-effective use of a difficult space. I tell my kitchen clients: "There are no *good* blind corner cabinet solutions. You may choose from a list of increasingly bad and expensive blind corner cabinet solutions." Half-moon, peanut or figure-8 shelves sacrifice 50% of the cabinet volume, and they are just as likely to dump stuff as a susan is. Shuttling baskets require six actions to deploy. This hardware can run up to $1500. A full round susan is accessible with a 9" wide diagonal door; a pie cut susan with double-hinged door is superbly functional. Either costs about $100 per cabinet for polymer shelves, $200 for wood (plywood, and yuck) shelves.

As Jo notes below, back access is the best solution to a peninsula corner cabinet. You can create a pullout on heavy slides if under a bar overhang, so you don't need to crawl. As Jo says, these spaces are great for occasional dishes & serving trays, table linens, and rarely-used gear like chafing dishes.

We added a door on the dining room side of our corner cabinet so we could pull festive occasion dishes out easily but store them when not in use! Best solution ever!

Thank you for this great video. I have a corner Lazy Susan that I love but I always lose pieces of Tupperware back behind. These new options are great to think about!

My daughter is a Susan, and takes offense at the term "lazy Susan". We called them "Industrious Susans" in our household. Or just plain old turntables.

I believe the “peanut” shelving is also called “Le Mans.”

I wish your video explained what solutions would work for blind UPPER cabinets.

Or that could be some mini office drawers, or a drop zone/charging station from the other side. I look at my corners and know I can do better things with them from the other side of the cabinetry, not use them for the kitchen at all! One backs onto the dining room, and the other the main entry to my condo. So glad designers like you are starting to be more flexible and less precious about dedicated kitchen functions for those voids.

Love watching these videos before I remodel. I’m 75 and am having trouble utilizing the top corner cabinet. Thing disappear in the side areas and the back, on top, is so far back it’s useless. Is there anything that I could choose to help my access or do I just wrote it off.

With the peanut and magic corner designs, I won't be able to reach past them to get pieces that fell off in the back.

The problem I have is finding 1 that will fit my cupboard, as my door width is to small for them all and sometimes my depth. 😭 even the ones shown here won't fit. As all need minimum 40cm door width mine is a random 37cm. Can't change the door or expand it all.. anyone ideas what I can do?? As it's big 3ft length waste cupboard

Hi! Love all your videos! Thank you very much for sharing. In general, by adding more drawers to the kitchen cabinets is more expensive than doors?

What do you do when you already have a lazy Susan and want to change it.

I'm surprised you did not suggest a vertical lift for corner dead space
