Happy Wednesday! You (hopefully) saw my Best Books of 2021 video last week, and so now it's time for my Worst Books of 2021. These were my least favourite books that I read in 2021 and I am in no way saying these books are bad! I just didn't enjoy them. A Heart So Fierce and Broken has a stunning cover! Sad to hear that it wasn't very good

I actually came across N.K.Jemisin for the first time in a science fiction class, so you can imagine my surprise when I found out her books are categorized as fantasy in bookstores XD There's definitely a fantastical element to her works (I read the Broken Earth trilogy), but all the "magic" is rooted in more science fiction-y tropes, so I'd say it's more a science fantasy (like Star Wars).

No, you're right about Priory. I rated it way too high because I read it when it first came out and I didn't want to disagree with popular opinion (and it was one of the first sapphic fantasies I'd read and I didn't want to rate that down).

My worst two books of the year are Hornet’s Nest by Patricia Cornwell (a crummy cop novel that turned out to be super transphobic) and The Sea Queen by Jovee Winters (which read like a Wattpad fanfiction romance with some of the worst dialogue I have ever encountered)
