• This is the song that landed the BEASTIE BOYS on MTV and introduced them to a massive audience. It peaked at #7 in America on March 7, 1987, the same day that the "LICENSED TO ILL" album reached #1, making it the first rap album to top the charts. The Beastie Boys would go down in history as one of the most successful and controversial hip-hop artists of all time.
• Album producer RICK RUBIN worked a lot on this track, giving it a rock flavour. Rubin was the first to combine a huge rap act with a rock icon, collaborating with RUN-D.M.C. joined AEROSMITH for the reworked "WALK THIS WAY" earlier in 1986. Rubin is recognised as a co-writer on "Fight For Your Right" alongside the three Beastie Boys.
