Water under the chips could take a long time to dry. Just letting it air dry for a long time could allow corrosion to occur and ruin the card as well. You’re going to want to remove the faceplate and backplate to allow better drying. Then before reassemble clean any airborne dust away with isopropyl. If you do this in theory the card will work as it should, but any residual water droplets to any circuits when powered and it’s a goner

Don't worry, as long as there's no power being supplied to it while it's still wet, it will be okay. Just make sure that it's 100% dry before plugging it in, though.

Absolutely not. Cleaning a high-end graphics card like an RTX 4090 or 3090 with water or any other liquid is extremely dangerous and will almost certainly damage the card beyond repair. These components are highly sensitive to moisture and static electricity.
Here's why:
* Short Circuit: Water can conduct electricity, and even a small amount of moisture can cause a short circuit in the delicate components of the graphics card.
* Corrosion: Over time, water can corrode the metal and electronic components, leading to permanent damage.
* Thermal Paste: Water will dissolve the thermal paste used to cool the GPU, which can lead to overheating.
If you want to clean your graphics card, here are the safe methods:
* Compressed air: Use a can of compressed air to gently blow away dust and debris from the fan blades and heatsink.
* Cleaning brush: A soft, anti-static brush can be used to remove dust from hard-to-reach areas.
* Isopropyl alcohol: For stubborn stains, apply a small amount of isopropyl alcohol to a lint-free cloth and gently wipe the affected area. Ensure the card is completely powered off and unplugged before doing this.
Remember: Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for cleaning your specific graphics card. If you are unsure about how to clean your graphics card, it is best to consult a professional.
Trying to clean a graphics card with water is like trying to wash a computer with a fire hose. It's a recipe for disaster.
Would you like me to provide more information on cleaning computer components safely?

I’m assuming that you’re using a model 4090 or just the casing. If so, where do you buy something like that? Seems like a nice collectable

You should wash it with a toothbrush instead of just rubbing the surface 😂

You are wasting time and not getting it cleaned. I always put it in the dishwasher. Drying cycle helps a lot also.
