This song has a pretty deep meaning. It shows how people with music contracts have very limited amount of choice. They control him like a puppet, like other current stars are like. If they want him to advertise Ham or play drums using A knife and a fork, they can make him do it.  They used the soul part so the meaning wasn't obvious. The moral of the song is that fame is not cheap. If they want a star to do something, they have to do it.

It's November 2023 and I just listened to André 3000 flute album and listen to a recent André 3000 interview that took place in a laundrymat. I remember watching this show as a kid and being so confused as to why André 3000 was not making rap music anymore and why Class of 3000 was canceled. But now I get it.
