Cruise ship endures huge waves on voyage to Antarctica

Passengers were rattled after their cruise ship returning from Antarctica experienced huge waves while crossing the Drake Passage, which is known for its rough conditions. David Muir reports.

One of the most dangerous passages in the world. The Panama Canal was constructed to make the trip between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans shorter, but the Drake passage was the only way before the canal was made.
Because of the swirling cold water currents that continuously circles Antarctica and the warmer water currents coming from the north converging in such a small passage below South America, it makes the water extremely torrential nearly all the time. It's almost like a constant tornado in the water, similar to when warmer and colder air converge together and form tornadoes on land.

Ive been on a cruise ship....during very rough seas...me and my sister were on the dance floor..yes...in the bar..and we'd jump up... and land on the other side of the dance floor. We thought it was fun
