catch catfish bait using Slim Jims and then store your live bait in a Keepnet. Live bait is great for big catfish but getting enough live bait can be a challenge. I love using bluegill as live bait for catfish and my favorite way to catch a lot of bluegill is to use Slim Jims chunks on a #12 hook.
Once you catch your live bait you can keep it alive in a keepnet. Keep nets are about 8' foot long tubular nets that are use to store the fish you catch. The netting allows cool water and oxygen to circulate around the fish. Keepnets are basically portable live wells for bank fishermen
You can use the keep net to keep fish alive to use as live bait, you can use the keepnet as a cooler to keep the fish alive until you are ready to fillet them or you can use the keepnet to take a picture of your entire day's catch before releasing them.
