The best explanation ive ever heard about lifting your hands to God came from a music director at the church i grew up in. He said he never understood lifting hands during church until his young son came running to him with his arms reaching up to him saying "Daddy, daddy pick me up." He said at that point it hit him. Why can't you come to our heavenly father with your arms lifted up and say to him "Daddy, daddy, pick me up."

Our church typically doesn’t encourage people to raise hands during worship, because we emphasise on a more quiet, meditative style of worship. We’re not all about making a lot of noise and all that. That’s just our tradition. If there are churches where people raise their hands during worship, it’s very biblical, not satanic at all.
