This was a part of the Game Awards 2017 Orchestra, where they play part of the main theme of each of the nominees, to lead up to the announcement of Game of the Year.

hi !!!i’m happy folks enjoyed the show and the mario song! it was an honor to record it and to perform it . i want to clarify for the folks that are concerned about lip sync ;)i actually did sing. my mic was live. however there was also a track of vox at the same time in the mix. the reason this is done much of the time is that the orchestra and vocalist have little to no rehearsal time for these types of events. it’s a very technically challenging issue due to the fact that the space is so large and it’s very hard to hear. it’s not an acoustic experience for musicians. therefore, to ensure that the musicians can all hear each other, it’s incredibly helpful to have 2 vox trax happening simultaneously.at the end of the day, representing the product well is the main goal. i hope we did that. i had a great time singing. really singing ;) i hope y’all did too ;)blessings blessings blessings go

My grandpa and his son ( my dad) loved playing the first Mario bros and my dad always told me how much fun he had with him.
After playing the festival in metro kingdom, he started to burst into tears and it reminded him of his dad.

Anyway, who cares, her voice is amazing and I am sure the show staff had their reasons for the lyp sinc.

Just to be clear, there were two tracks playing: prerecorded and her live performance. Its technically challenging to sync up the orchestra and singer with little rehearsal

Her voice sounds exactly the same, and I love it. She's perfect for Pauline, and I love the old timey feel Pauline's character and song has.

I tend to forget that when you're on stage, it's really hard to see the audience. Don't know about the lights for a show like this but I was just putting myself in her place and the thought comforted me..

Even if it’s lip synced, that’s Kate on the track. She’s a very talented voice actor and sings like an angel. And she’s from Virginia, just like me!
