In hindsight it's kind of amazing it took them that long to realize Super Mario and 40's-style big-band tap dancing are a match made in heaven. They're both about extremely precise, acrobatic movement, they're both overwhelmingly joyful, they're both colorful and kid-friendly and singularly focused on skillfully, artfully, delivering childish wonder.
