BMW has updated its road-biased middleweights for 2025, with both the F900 R and F900 XR gaining updates, including new USD forks.

We headed to Almeria for a BMW press event and tested both the naked and sport-touring editions of the F900 back-to-back.

I like the look of the XR. I tested the previous version and found the motor to be underwhelming. I've since bought bikes with Yamaha's CP3 engine and never looked back. Similar spec on paper, but in reality, the CP3 feels at least 1 capacity class above.

F900 R looks really good now, and nice updates to hardware.
As for XR it really needed this update to compete with all the mid capacity sport tourers

Test rode and reviewed the F900R on the disgraceful English roads and found the suspension handled them really well. I found the new riding position made the bike fun to ride. Felt a lot more premium than the Hornet 1000 which I’ve also rode 👍
