Silence of the Lambs is one of those movies that never gets old to me, I've probably watched it over 50 times, it's just a perfect movie.

Hannibal is great - & so underrated. Thomas Harris could’ve just trotted out a formulaic sequel as a cash grab after the success of the first movie, & instead he created this wildly ambitious, slow, thoughtful global epic with Mason Verger & Florence & the pigs etc etc etc. When I read the book I thought the brain scene at the end would be unfilmable but Ridley found a way to make it work. Julianne Moore crushed it in that film but I’ll never forgive Jodie for deciding not to do it. And the love story is very much one sided (with Lecter coveting Clarice but never reciprocated so if that was her actual reason for not doing it then that’s even sadder honestly.

Silence is the only movie that doesn't disappoint after seeing the movie 1st & reading the book after. The movie is SO close to the book.

She made the right choice. Hannibal was a bad movie and a worse book. The fact that they later tried to make Clarice into a TV show just proves that there are some things that are too perfect to jeopardize with a sequel.
