Russ' antics got people talking about the game again. He was ruthless and served as a major turning point in how the game was played. Love him or hate him, he will always be one of the most important players in the history of this great TV show.

If Parvati wasn’t on this list I would’ve led a revolt

Also am I the only one who never understood the Rupert hype train

My top 5 most iconic:

-Parvati
-Sandra
-Boston Rob
-Russell
-Tony

I don’t really think anyone comes too close to these 5 in terms of iconic other than Richard Hatch & Ozzy.

Maybe throw in a Probst head too. Not a player but he’s the face of survivor.

Parvati, Cirie, Rob, Sandra, and Russel. (Rupert and Richard were last cuts).

I'd swap Rupert with Russell, because Russell is the reason that the hidden immunity idol has become so important

My top 5 before watching the video, in order of importance : 1. Boston Rob (most complete player. Great at social game, politics, strategy. Very strong at challenges and amazing at puzzles. Great at jungle living, shelter building, fishing. Found true love on the show and deserved to win the Amber season also) 2. Sandra (two time champ. Amazing at social, strategy, politics. Just super witty, smart, and delightful). 3. Parvati (amazing at social, strategy, politics. Really great at non-puzzle challenges. The original femme fatale ) 4. Russell Hantz (very original game. Ridiculous force of personality. Just a person who bullied other big egos into following his bidding, even as a newbie on an all stars season. Ridiculous at finding idols and changed the game. A total unique force of nature. Deserved to win his first season) 5. Richard Hatch (the first person to figure out the game. The first winner. Super smart at strategy and politics. The OG)

You gotta have russell on there just because of how he changed the game. Theres so much idols in the game now because of russell hantz

I think the tough part about this is that the way people view Survivor now is so different. I feel like if you are talking about which Survivors will be best known by the general public, then yeah, I'd agree with this list. However, for me, the most iconic players are ones that continue to shape the game--the ones that new players try to emulate and adapt. So, I'd have Boston Rob, Parvati, Cirie, Ozzy, and Cochran. Like, these are the archetypes that the show seems to try to cast each season.

0.0% chance that those giant heads ended up in a dumpster, unless dumpster is in Jeff’s backyard 🤫

My Mount Rushmore plus 1 (besides Boston Rob and Sandra) would be:

1.) Richard Hatch, he invented the concept of alliances, and helped create the term "pagonging" with Pagong's downfall.

2.) Rupert, he was intensely popular back in the day, and he still has a ton of fans!

3.) Cirie, I would say she was the first Superfan or at least a huge fan. She seemed like an early boot, but she used her social and strategic game to go far in 3 games and have a short run in Season 20! Plus it takes magic to eliminate her, a firemaking challenge, losing a final 3 challenge, JT betraying her in a split vote and literally being the only one left without some form of immunity got her the boot in her 4 times playing, and she could still come back and potentially win!

4.) Parvati, she's the siren of Survivor. At least one new female contestant name drops her. Heck we just saw Molly get compared to Parvati and that's why she was sent home.

5.) Russell, he ushered in the modern age of Survivor, and played the game in the most ruthless way you could possibly play without pulling a Brandon Hantz.

I agree with all of these except Rupert. The other 4 are my top 4, except the first name I'd put up there is Parvati because everyone else is so scared if having another Parvati. My fifth would have to be Cirie

Parvati's journey on being Survivor icon is fascinating. In season 13, if you read interviews and if you watched closely, she was NOT a diehard fan of the game as she was recruited to be on the game (she originally applied to be on The Amazing Race). During that season, she was barely trying to make moves and was kinda enjoying being her flirtatious self. Her advantage was her outstanding performance in group challenges and that's what actually made her survive the merge; she was an asset. The only time she had to scramble strategically was when she won a reward with Ozzy so she used all her charms to try and sway Ozzy to be in her alliance. Even eventual winner Yul saw through this and concluded she was a legit threat. After she was voted out in 6th place, she realized that she can actually win the game. Jeff Probst and the producers saw through this so she was invited to be in Season 16 and Jeff correctly deduced that "Parvati will be the Amber of this season"
