I always tell people to hit the rusty bolt with a hammer before hitting it with an impact cause it loosens up all the rust in the threads and makes it easier on the impact

Battery powered impacts are good for certain situations, I’ve had real good luck with corded ones, I bought one from harbor freight for 80 and it hasn’t let me down in years

I use to set metal stamping dies that weighed in excess of 30 tons.... we used a 3/4 Milwaukee then put the bar on it for a manual tight.. 90% of the time with a full battery the manual tight wasn't even needed (but still done) as we couldn't even turn the nut with a 6 foot bar. Great Impacts

Earthmoving mechanic here...shock the bolt with one hard blow with a 4 pounds then try what you doing now....

For those of you that don’t know, the 1 and 2 on drills/impacts are for torque and speed, respectively. Use 1 for loosening and tightening and 2 for everything else

What I don’t understand is how a certain impact will claim, say 500+ ft lbs of breakaway but then has trouble breaking a cars lug nut free that no way in hell is tightened even close to that.

Finally someone who knows how to use an impact, I hate when you see videos of people using an impact and do it for like 3 seconds like the longer you use it the more heat goes into it and it’ll eventually come lose lol
