MORE ABOUT ME

I'm Anne of All Trades. In NASHVILLE, I have a woodworking, blacksmithing and fabrication shop, a selection of furry friends, and an organic farm. Whether you've got the knowledge, tools, time or space to do the things you've always wanted to do, everything is "figureoutable."

I became "Anne of All Trades" out of necessity. With no background in farming or making things, I wanted to learn to raise my own food, fix things when they break and build the things I need.

8 years ago I got my first pet, planted my first seed and picked up my first tool.

My goal is to learn and share traditional techniques and skills while showing my peers how to get from where they are to where they want to go, how to do the things they are passionate about, and what can be done TODAY to engage their own community and grow deep roots.

Whether it's carving spoons, making my own hand tools, restoring my antique truck or growing heirloom tomatoes, the farm and workshop definitely keep me busy and support - whether financially through Patreon, through shopping my affiliate links, through buying merchandise, plans or project videos, or even just liking, commenting, and sharing my content with others helps me GREATLY to keep producing quality content to share.

A lazy person is usually the most ingenious. Lazy doesnt mean you do nothing just means you find a much more efficient way to do the same thing. Which means you usually do way more things just more efficiently.

Even though you were injured, you still have a vegetable garden full of everything, that's admirable. Hearing you share really motivates me.

Hi! This was the third video I watched and I’ve really enjoyed them, the first was one of your wood carving videos. Just want to let you know a little something about dahlias though… you can only get exact replicas of the parent plant by harvesting the tubers. If you allow the seed pod from that same parent plant to dry and plant those seeds you will get a different and unique dahlia. It will be the only one like it because you grow other dahlias and don’t know what other flower it was pollinated from. For example I grow a dahlia named Caitlin’s Joy (type pompon, color pink) and I also grow a dahlia named Cafe Au Lait (type decorative/dinner plate, color creamy pink/coffee) let’s pretend those are the only two dahlias I grow. If I take the dried seeds from Caitlin’s Joy -those new baby dahlias could be orange, pink, white, yellow, purple, any color and will most likely be a single ray or some sort of collarette. They will look nothing like either of the parents, however those new plants will be gorgeous and draw in a lot of pollinators. If you have one you are fond of, you can allow it to grow, then collect its tubers and continue your very own dahlias. Tubers make clones and seeds make new varieties. Another tip is to allow the seed pods to mature on the plant. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, and I’ll pray for full recovery of your hand and fingers.

Making all that liquid fertilizer, composting, and such is awesome - I love it, and I'm not poopahing it or anything. But if you don't have time for it, you can get a bunch of rabbits, feed "em up good, and spread those cute little dry poop balls on just about anything you wanta grow, and it'll give you as pretty as you've ever seen. Awesome garden!
