Think of the asphalt as if it were glass. The alligator cracking problem is caused because the asphalt has been broken all the way down to the base. You can't fix it by putting a skim coat over it. The cracks will just come back. You have to cut out and remove the broken asphalt all the way to where it isn't broken and then patch the spot with new asphalt and roll it. What they are doing is like spray painting over broken glass or rust. It's lipstick on a pig.

Anyone else just found this on their recommended, and just clicked on it instead of sleep?

I use this stuff it works great if u don’t want to cut out and patch. I usually let it set for 5 hours in the summer then seal coat over top of it. One thing I do is I’ll take a strong duct tape make a nice square around the area that I’m applying the material down on and after It’s laid I pull the tape up and it looks like a nice consistent patch or repair, but peel the tape right after u apply it if u wait tell it’s dried it’ll peel up the edges

This stuff is great, I used it to repair an area in one of my parking lots 2 years ago and it's still holding strong!!

GE Advanced Silicone has done a great job for my asphalt driveway. It’s hard to beat 100% flexible silicone.

Why not add small stone aggregate in the gaps before application?

very promising, excellent .. the ultimate test for me in the north is if it will handle the snowplow on the 15 ton Sterling truck

Take a shot every time the guy says "that's what it's designed to do"

Theres no ‘after’ shot - cause it probably looks exactly how you’d expect it to look after you poured a bucket of seal coat into a driveway that was falling apart.

Looks pretty when finished, but bigger issues lie underneath. It'll be just as bad, if not worse, if that isn't ripped up and the sub level fixed.

Yea. I think this is how mostly everything is done with roads "thinner, so you can get more surface area."

Can this be performed on a commercial parking lot, in place of resurfacing? Would it be better to level out with road base (crushed lime) and then skim coat / seal? I'm just thinking if this is silicone, it fillls, but won't have the density of compressed road base. It looks slick, but will it have longevity to used before resealing, and old grey asphalt parking lot?

How it looks after a month with rain and traffic on it?

I saw they start implement this such method to the the road....I think can improve it by adding some tiny rock raugh sand mixture to make it more stronger and prevent tyres from overlapping during rainy day.

Isn’t this kind of damage caused by pooling water? Wouldn’t the best fix be ripping it up and evening it out so water wicks away from the center?

Dont think it will last. I want to see the road condition now
