Swimming is my bliss. Everything you stated about your joy in swimming in another video. I'm 71 y.o. woman. Osteoarthritis, hip and knee pain are exacerbated by yoga and weight training. Hike, bike, swim are my nirvana now.

I’m a lifeguard. I’ve never swam competitively (aside for a few years in elementary school), but I’ve always been a strong swimmer. I started swimming more rigorously for exercise right after I became a lifeguard. I feel ethically inclined to be an above average swimmer for the safety of the patrons at my pool. This job helped me fall in love with the sport and I’m going to continue swimming after I move on with my career

My friend invited me to sign up for a triathlon and I had never “swam” before. I went to the pool the next morning and was shocked at how difficult it was. It actually crossed my mind “how does someone not just die in the pool everyday?” About a week later I ran into a different friend at the pool how asked me how it was going and she shared that for her it was very zen. Her comment changed my perception and I’ve tried to really enjoy it ever since. I have competed in two triathlons this year and do a mini triathlon every weekend with my workout friend. I love swimming. It is so refreshing and invigorating and I anticipate doing it the rest of my life.

I started my swimming journey 3 months ago from our government's Learn to Play a Sport Program here in the Philippines. They offered a lot of different sports, Taekwondo was my sport but I wanted to try a new sport, Swimming. It was challenging and hard at first because my upper body was not used to it and the breathing was hard. Although it was hard, I fell in love with swimming because it eases my mind. The feeling and the sound of the water passing you as you glide through it makes me feel like I'm in a different dimension; a different world. My other sport Taekwondo releases your emotions through explosive kicks, while swimming relaxes everything; it clears your mind, stimulize your nerves, and make you feel a feeling you never felt before. I fell in love and became obsessed with swimming, that was the time I searched for tips and tutorial on how to do the strokes properly and how to go faster. That was the time I stumbled on your YouTube channel. I found your content helpful, useful, motivating, and inspiring. :)
After the program I joined a competitive swimming club and trained with teammates. Swimming is not easy, well at first, but with discipline and consistency you will thrive.

Swimming is the most fulfilling sport for me! There's nothing like being in the water! Not only do I feel great while I'm swimming, but the after effects last throughout my day and night. Thanks for such a great channel 😊

After a big health scare and weight loss surgery I got back into swimming. My main goal is fitness - mental and physical. Swimming is my time to throw on my headphones for an hour and just do my thing and think about what's to come for the day. I swim 6 days a week (usually taking Saturdays off because of swim classes in the morning when I'd normally go). It's been life-changing for me and is now something I truly look forward to daily. It also helps me sleep better at night - and that's something I've always had trouble with.

There are so many good things to say about swimming!

I love swimming because it is an important part of my life. I have been swimming since I was little and always have fun when I swim. I have a rare disease that causes inflammation in the bones. About 8 years ago it was at its peak, which meant I couldn't participate in recess or play sports. The only sport I could do was swimming as it didn't stress my bones. it gave me such joy that I could be allowed to move and it made my joy for swimming even greater. Today I still swim and I also teach people from the age of 1 to adults how to swim. So I love swimming because it can give so much as community, joy opportunity to practice sports and much more.

I love swimming and everything that goes with it: feeling the water, trying new things, learning, discipline, concentration, competing with myself and others, being surrounded by other people who love swimming, traveling to swimming meetings. After a hard working day, it’s my stress relief therapy.

After I picked up a bad injury to my legs from playing football, any activity which involved running sprints stopped for me. This made my fitness level drop drastically. I realised the only sport I could do to remain fit and avoid injury was swimming. Although until then (one and a half years ago) I was not only afraid, but literally terrified of water. Then one day my friend dragged me almost forcefully into a shallow river in the city I live in just to stand on it. While I was feeling the water touch my legs, I suddenly started to get calmer and calmer -- until I got the urge to conquer my fear of water and learn swimming. Then, at the age of 28 I started to take beginners swimming classes. Throughout the first few months of the course I was mortified of letting myself go and remained stiff (which naturally hindered my progress a lot). I always saw others swim carelessly and progressing very fast -- this always used to make me sad and disappointed...

But my motivation and drive never died out. I kept on trying and booked free courses where I could JUST practice. All the time I used to stay in the shallow end and practice Breaststroke. I used to watch multiple videos about bettering my technique in youtube. Among them Fares' channel helped me a lot in knowing how to manipulate the water through proper movements. Slowly and slowly I got confident enough to try to venture into the deeper end on my own. Finally in the beginning of this year (after drinking gallons of pool water) I could swim one lap entirely by my own. Then after that there was no stopping me. I kept on developing and increasing my endurance and stamina. Now I am learning Freestyle and my next step will be to learn the Butterfly :)

My aim is to compete in the future (that's my competitive mind speaking :D) and to do long distance swimming. So, this is the long story behind my drive to swim. Moreover, I always try to encourage beginner swimmers irrespective of age to remain committed and continue to learn swimming. If I could do it, anybody can do it! Keep swimming! #WORLDSWIMDAY

I swim because i have learn to swim at the age of four years old. I love to be in the water. But the waterpolo drills make me leave the sport at the age of 37. After 20 years i missed swimming and i joint up again. I needed to work on my shoulder problems and didn’t want to go to the gym because i couldn’t feel it the right way. So i started swimming again and truly, i have missed it…I can’t play waterpolo ever again, but i do can swim. I am so glad, i am healing and getting stronger and will never leave the water again. I am not only training my body to get stronger and fit again. But i’m improving myself with all your videos. Many thanks from the Netherland. Marianne.

I have been swimming for many years...
1st time swimming working out cured my diarrhea symptom that doctor could not figure out when was young.

Then I swam back my body shape after giving birth.

Then I swam as my regular exercises almost everyday to stay fit and happy! Swim all the stress in life away...

Most wonderful form of exercise in my world!
