Today in our Tesla DIY series, I’ll show you one of the simplest 30 minute DIY kits for the Model 3 and Y. This mod has received more compliments than I expected with benefits that offer both aesthetics and performance.
It’s sportier, you get sequential turn signals, something usually found in higher end cars. And they’re brighter than stock - which is safer, and your backup lights are also brighter, making it easier to see.

I never care about how those tail lights look, as I don't see them when I'm driving. But what I find really cool is that there's so much available in after market kits! Power frunk, self presenting doors, direct buttons, and now these. That's pretty cool!

I've always thought Tesla's have underwhelming rear tail light designs and intensity in all their vehicles and they all look alike. Especially at the price point they command. These are actually miles better than stock lights. Well done.

Great job, Kim! I've seen these taillights before, and have some thoughts. First off, I think they look great. I like the look of the smoked tails better also (especially on your silver car), but I had only one concern, and that is the red side tails that don't match the new smoked tails (for example your red charge door). I'm not the type of guy that likes to complain or present a problem to someone unless I have a solution to offer them as well...so...I'm thinking that it would look great to put transparent smoked/tinted film on those side tails. Many people use that stuff to tint their factory tail lights and headlights already. Seems like a simple enough fix :)

Lit up looks great, reminiscent of my fave old BMW M3 😄 Same for carbon lip 'spoiler'.
I think the chrome T is best left, ONE trace of chrome against silver paint is perfect.

Yarding out that interior cover in one swoop with those hidden fasteners is something I could never do like that, lol. Savage.

A little mechanics telescoping magnet, small enough to chase that little nut (4:00) strong enough to pick up your ratchet wrench, tiny investment and space required--must have for any tool box!

8:00 wrap tape around end of screwdriver for that IF you care about paint damage.

I've been waiting for this one! The new ones look great! It's nice to see more customizations than just the normal wraps and such. I really like them! And I would definitely install the black spoiler it really adds to the sporty look. Keep up the great videos!
