We are all just here because we love the way you smile when you hear/learn about something new or thought provoking, at least I am anyways

Don't be surprised, being genuine keeps viewers. There's a landscape full of the disingenuous. We appreciate the 'hang out' with a real person. Kudos and thanks.

In the 6th grade, I tried to explain that the letter "M" starts with an "E" and My teacher could not wrap his head around it. I was immediately dismissed and the other kids were clueless, So hearing about the letter "W" starting with a "D" decades later makes me feel less lonely in thought. It was really satisfying to hear that. 😊

Repetition does lead to proficiency, but to master something I do feel like it helps to know different ways to do it. Not just the one or two ways you practiced it repeatedly.

@8:01 Lol, This one reminds me of the classic: "Teach a person to light a fire and they can keep themselves warm from time to time. Set a person on fire and they will be warm for the rest of their life."

My Aunt Karen was absolutely lovely. Kind, sweet, and a fundamentally wonderful woman.

A friend of mine shared with me something his piano teacher told him when he was young. She said to him "Practice doesn't make perfect, practice makes permanent. Only perfect practice can make perfect." What she meant was that if you practice something incorrectly, or practice the wrong thing, you're training mistakes into your skillset. So there may be some kind of hours requirement to reach mastery, but if you practice badly for 20, 000 hours you'll still suck. It's much more important to have your fundamentals absolutely solid, then build intelligently from there. Simply putting in the time doesn't guarantee you'll actually be any good at the end of it.

11:06 In reference to your comment in the lower right quadrant of the screen... We're here because you're pretty much genuine, and have an outstanding intellect and sense of humor that lets you react to comedy videos and historical videos with equal aplomb.

I always dig the references and the suggested readings, and appreciate the no intro too, definitely easy to listen to. Seriously need to consider a long-format podcast.

10, 000 hours? What 10, 000 hours of practice does is make so much of what you do become second nature, so you can concentrate on whatever aspects will make you elite. You literally do something without thinking, the repetition makes you quicker and more responsive. It's definitely applicable in sports, but in other activities as well. I used to have to do sales presentations for work, one night my girlfriend woke me up laughing, and she said I was doing a sales presentation in my sleep. I cracked up myself, and asked how did it go, she said seriously it was the best sales presentation she had seen. She laughed and said I would show an item describe it give the style, and wait for a response, then go OK and another good style you ought to consider. For 10 minutes while I was sleeping, So yes if you do something for 416 days it can make a diff in my experience.

A British reality show to check out is Castaway (2000) . A year long experiment for 36 men, women and children who were placed on a remote Scottish island and left to form a functioning community. Although there was inevitable drama, that wasn't the hook as it is in usual reality TV, more of a social experiment.

Randomly, it was here in NZ that reality TV became a thing. It started with two TV series called Popstars and Treasure Island, the forebearers of the island castaway and singing competition shows

I'll add one that had led to many arguments, but it's also a principal in law. "A man cannot truly be free unless he had the power to enslave himself."

Hey No Protocol just a quick tip : if you don't want your video thumbnails to be blurry/pixelised, resize them exactly in 1280*720 pixels before uploading them to Youtube 🙂 Trust me, it works !
