I know the answer to that orange question. The color orange was named after the fruit. The color just used to be known as a different shade of red. This is the reason why redheads are called redheads even though their hair color more resembles orange than red. It’s a terminology from old English that somehow stayed around. Once the fruit became popular, people started saying stuff like orange-colored clothes or orange-colored flower or orange-colored paper and it just became easier to term the color as orange.

Ideas:
