Our government is working on a $100 billion project that is set to completely transform India.
The concept for this project was introduced in 2006, and it’s called the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor.
Construction of this mega project began around 2015, and Japan has also provided India with a loan of over $4 billion for this project.
The Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor is 1,483 km long and will connect Delhi and Mumbai. It will include 2 new international airports, an eight-lane highway, and India’s first high-speed rail line.
Under this project, 8 smart cities will be developed in states like Delhi, UP, Gujarat, and Maharashtra to attract more foreign investments into India.
This will create 3 million jobs, and once the project is completed, our industrial production will increase threefold, and exports will grow up to fourfold.
It is expected to be completed by 2040, and after its completion, the manufacturing sector will contribute up to 25% to India's GDP. Additionally, slum areas will be developed, and affordable housing will be built.
