so much emotion in this song, why did it take a singing clown to make me realise this song was so dark

Puddles isn't clowning around. He has serious talent. It's a pity most parties don't hear more of his crowning voice.

Mike Greier is a genuinely rare talent, he doesn't just do covers, he reinvents them with his rich Baritone and fresh style ....he should be a bigger Star but I guess he is happy with what he is doing!!

As good as Sia's version is, this one feels so much more deep & emotional. The violins & Puddles' singing makes it even sadder & tragic.

This totally changes the tone of the song. This is dark, and it is so beautiful.

Watching Puddles' face and hand gestures make this 100% better than just listening. I even enjoyed at 1:27 when he starts to touch his puffy button thing awkwardly

I pretty much can't listen to this cover without being a sobbing mess by the end. Obviously Puddles' voice is angelic, that's a given, but the emotional progression is absolutely stunning. It starts numb, "pushing it down" as the lyrics suggest, but as it goes on the sadness sets in and by the end it's like an unfiltered cry for help, still technically marvellous but done in a way that feels so raw.

Bravo.

Thanks to Puddles, I finally know what Sia was singing.

I'm surprised nobody is talking about the look of pure emotion on the cellist face. Really helps bring the song together.

I really want him to try out on The Voice just for the look on the coaches faces when they turn around.

The lead violinist performed flawlessly. Not taking away anything from Puddles; but wow. Truly unsung heroine here.

This is still one of the most impressive pieces of music I have heard for decades. Sia's lyrics are great, and when you see Puddles' delivery from 2:30 until the end you see that he not only gets it: he totally feels it.

"I'm holding on for dear life" - great line delivered with passion and meaning. Gets me.

This cover really conveys the emotion in that the words of this song were intended to evoke. This has actually given me a much greater appreciation of Sia and her skill as a lyricist.

One of THE most unique acts I've ever seen. Would love to see them live.

As someone who struggled with alcohol dependency...This brought me to tears. Thank you, Puddles. <3

I've been sober for about half a century. It's like being raised from the dead. This song always brings me to tears, I hurt so for anyone still in this bondage. I had to quit despite believing it meant I would never have fun again. On the contrary, my life began then. I traded a life of living and working in dark smoky rooms where despair was palpable to sailing, skiing, performing, having a rich career in all the arts, a thriving social life, teaching, ministering, living among nature, home ownership, self-sufficiency, environmental activism, family...
It doesn't have to be this way. Alcohol is not your friend. Choose life and wellness. You have mirth in your life but when did you last feel joy? It's your birthright. Seize it.
