Ferrari race director, Laurent Mekies, wants the FIA to be diligent as they look to decipher whether Red Bull and Aston Martin have broken the financial rules.

Last year, a $145 million spending limit was brought in last season, and that had to be shared out between damage repairs, development, workers’ hours, energy used in the wind tunnel, and freight transportation.

The teams had to stay within the limit and submit paperwork to the FIA, complete with a full list of their spending throughout the year.

There is a rumour that there are 3 teams that broken the ceiling.

And because of the whining from wacko Wolff and baseless Binotto, I guess it's at least on of those two. My guess is MB, because they were doing their best to catch up to Verstappen last season, putting more and more money in the car (and forgetting to work on this years car, which gave us the pedal carts we see now).
And just a question; the crashes caused by MB, are these transferable to their team finances? Because both 'sir' and Bottas made million dollar damages.

Mercedes, Ferrari and all other teams should threaten a walkout, and if no satisfactory result, follow through on threat. Fia and liberty have absolutely nothing if half the field walk?👍

Says Scuderia Ferrari race director Mekies ……has he forgotten the illegal fuelinjection system a couple of years ago ……there was investigation but the outcome was not disclosed and Ferrari were spared …… now another team messed up and he goes in for the kill …… how hypocrite can you be??

LOL FROM Ferrari who had an illegal power unit a few years ago and made a secret deal with no penalty with the FIA and have been the biggest cheaters in F1 over time.

Max's Title is safe. RB only exceeded the cost cap by 100K and will get a negligible fine. Aston Martin did it by 4m and will get a 100 point penalty spread across last and this season.

The FIA either have rules or they don’t. To ignore Red Bull breaching the budget cap sets a dangerous president.

the FIA will bottle it possibly leading to the teams going their own way

FIA will give them a slap on the wrist, and a £10m fine they don't have the balls to take the drivers title away from Verstappen or the constructors championship money away from Red Bull
