Man, just a little too late! I switched from FCP to Resolve a few months ago and haven't looked back. Plus with the BMD cloud I can seamlessly bounce from my iPad to my MacBook Pro and I LOVE that workflow! Glad it's there, wish it had come out before Resolve but better late than never... and we ALL thought it was going to be never lol.

The subscription killed it for me, no matter how low it is at the moment. You know that price will escalate. Da Vinci Resolve or Luma Fusion will be a better option if they don’t go the subcription route.

It just popped up on my YT. I can't believe this.
Like having access to the Alchemy synth on an iPad - this is amazing!

Cool to see FCP coming to the iPad. I do think that the subscription model (although being pretty cheap) is going to push some users towards Resolve. Especially if Apple moves to the subscription route eventually with the MacOS version of the app.

I’m with many here who would love to have this….. except for that subscription model. DaVinci and Luma Fusion for me because of that.

With today's announcement of FCP for the iPad, I believe Apple has made it clear who is now his target audience: Youtubers and social media content creators.

This was the much-needed clarification I had been waiting for. For several months now, I have been considering a switch from FCP to Davinci Resolve, but I have held off waiting for the much-anticipated release of a new desktop FCP with tools made for film editors.

I will keep my options open until the end of the year, hoping Apple finally releases a new version of FCP, I got the message loud and clear, and I am packing my stuff and focusing on learning. Davinci Resolve. Not because FCP is now "bad" but because it is no longer the best tool for my needs and job.

Unless shown otherwise, it is so long, FCP. It has been ten good years.

if I learned on FCPX I would be so stoked on this.

I bought the daVinci resolve studio version for the iPad and there’s no way I’ll now pay a subscription plan to get FCPX. Apple is wrong about this option. If it would be a one-time purchase option, I would buy both FCPX and Logic. Because it’s a subscription plan, I’ll get none.

I'm just excited for updates. AI and auto edit, anything that speeds up my work!

ood that the Final Cut will be available on the iPad. the bad thing is having to pay a subscription and not having the opportunity to buy it and have it be yours for life.

Really dig the the Pencil integration and specific tools, hope they bring a Pencil version of Motion soon… but…music that “intelligently adjusts to the length of your video.” Is that like Audition Remix tool??? Hope so! - EDIT - It seems it does…big bummer though there doesn’t seem to be external support for libraries…so everything has to live inside the iPad’s internal storage….not good ….
