The gaming keyboard you should actually buy - Wooting 60HE

Plouffe's first video on ShortCircuit was the Wooting two HE Analog and now almost two years later, we have the Wooting 60HE. With magnetic Lekker switches, a crazy fast response time, and a reasonable price, is this the gaming keyboard to get?

I think you overlooked the usefulness of rapid trigger, for basically any rhythm game that uses keyboard tapping, being able to tap quicker then what your actuation point allows can save you from missing a note in so many situations and is a major bonus for this keyboard.

I'm sorry, I don't know how you can review this board and only mention Rapid Trigger in passing (less than 10 seconds). The ability to remove input _immediately_ when the finger is lifted is completely transformative for FPS games. It seems like LMG didn't know WHY people wanted them to review this board, it's not JUST another keyboard. It has completely unique features which were glossed over. Disappointing.

Sammy has some good taste. 👀
Good thing to mention, our ANSI 60HE's come with PBT keycaps pre-installed.
Thanks for taking the time to look at the board, and we can't wait for the speed results from the lab. :D

The most important aspect of the analog switch that is not talked about enough is not the granular input. It's actually the fact that the switch stops actuating IMMEDIATELY when you let go, no matter what height you are pressing at the time. That migth sound like a small thing, but in competitive games like Valorant where your aim immediatly resets to pinpoint accuracy when you are not moving this can actually make a big difference versus a traditional switch since you can stop your strafe faster than your oppopent and go for the headshot.

I’m surprised analog switches aren’t more commonly available, they sound like the perfect compromise between keyboards & sticks.

I actually use the 60HE as my daily driver and let me tell you, its phenomenal. All the features and actuation settings make it a swiss army knife of keyboards. My specific 60HE is Lubed with Krytox 205 g0 as well as Lubed Durox Stabilizers. It's in a CNC'd silver alumnium Tofu60 case with extra dense foam & Tape mod. The cherry on top of it is white Cerakey Ceramic Keycaps. By far my favorite and most luxurious peripheral build I've ever done. 10/10 would recommend.

I ran a 60% board as my first mechanical keyboard... Got pretty sick of it with the limitations as it wasn't one of those that could be flashed with new bindings. Using the Wooting, I've been running the thing for close to 6 months now and I've rarely run into anything I couldn't rebind to suit my preferences. As much as I'd like to see a 65/75 board from wooting, the 60's been going surprisingly strong for me...

Love my Wooting 60HE for what it is. I would almost always pick another keyboard over it for the typing experience, but in game it def adds that much more skill level. Appreciate the mod-ability of it too. New case + new keycaps + lubing the switches (and filming if you can manage to get some that fit well enough) + tape mod (and sound deadening with something like kilmat helps a ton with ping from the switches) + burger mod will make this keyboard another level. I've currently got mine in a RNDKBD ADK64 3d printed case and the sound and feel is great.

You can always have two keyboards for example a Unicomp New Model M for typing and a Wooting Two HE for gaming and macros

Already got mine! I love it. At first the options are overwhelming. 60% is enough for me, especially with the layers you can define.

Keep in mind you can get a keyboard kinda like this with the Apex Pro TKL 2023 from SteelSeries. Same actuation range design and shit and if you’re like me and enjoy a TKL over 60 percent you’ll love it.

Have the Wooting Full Sized for some months now and i just absolutley love it. preset for having it like normal keyboard. or high speed settings for fps or controller like for racing games. its just awesome. i only wish for like a wheel or smth for volume adjusting but i def recommend it :)

I've tried 60% keyboards and I'm not a fan. I don't mind the layers or lack of F keys, it's just too small. TKL is a better fit for me.

That key push release being not requiring a full release is very similar to how a good trigger is in a nice handgun (please save the politics for yourself, I'm Canadian, I just really like putting holes in paper). They call it break or reset point, but basically after the first pull you only have to release the trigger a little tiny bit for reset. It's massive improvement over a full release type, for much quicker follow up shots. So I can see on certain games/situations this keyboard could provide a huge advantage!

Actually you shouldn't switch out the steel plate. The sensors will mess up if there's too much flex in the plate.

I think this is the keyboard that caused a bunch of controversy in the _Osu!_ community because of that rapid trigger thing.

Plouffe's the keyboard dude.
Also Plouffe " Idk what this bracket does, or what these screws were for"🤣🤣

This thing looks so dope. They gotta make a 40% ortho/planck style for weirdos like me though.

I've been playing on a wooting for months now. it's hands down the best keyboard i've ever used and does actually help atleast for fps games. (previous ranks: apex master, valorant immortal3, cs LEM/B+, OW diamond3)

i love analog keys, i have a huntsman v2 analog and its great for gaming, but the 104 layout has just gotten a bit big for my desk setup. i considered the wooting but i just can’t stand 60% keyboards. i use the f row and arrow keys a ton. i would absolutely buy a wooting 75he but 60% is just WAY too few keys for me.
