Let's not forget Shadow's chaos powers. He's used Chaos Control to stop time several times in different games so Shadow could abuse that with his super form to blast Homelander away without a second thought.

TO BE HONEST I’m not really surprised Shadow’s grown this powerful. He’s literally the pinnacle of TIME-FREEZING Dark Alien DNA enhancement through mankind’s greatest intellectual minds put together. He’s built to heal others/things through his destruction which is why he’s able to overcome anything besides Maria. Him fucking up Metal Overlord is just him teaching his grandson a valuable lesson

Bruh, even the weakest version/era of Shadow can beat Homelander.

Also, beating Metal Overlord in his base shouldn't have been a big surprise, especially since Shadow Generations takes place during Sonic Generations. Combined that with the fact that the Adventure Roster gap between Sonic Adventure and Sonic Heroes isn't far apart at all.

Lets not forget shadows inhibitor rings, he doesn't wear them for his safety he wears them for others safety cause they allow him to reach his full base power and keep his energy levels topped off. Theres a scene from i believe sonic hero's where team dark is surrounded by enemy's so shadow takes his rings off and just plows through them like a semi truck.

I mean, Mephiles is effectively a demi-god (I think the only villain in game-verse to succeed in killing Sonic and keep awareness despite being literally _erased_ from the timeline). In the past Shadow needed his full power to force him to retreat but now he can defeat him without it.

Metal Overlord, which previously needed 3 super forms + the entire cast, Shadow can now take on solo.

I'm pretty sure he takes this.

Fun Fact: Generations scaling means that Sonic is faster than time itself, seeing as his speed is what was restoring the timeline.
Also if you ignore that, he's still massively faster than light as he's outrun black holes in base and ran across 1001 infinite universes within an afternoon to get back home in Sonic And The Secret Rings.
And Shadow naturally matches Sonic in speed.
