Comparing 10 NES Games to their Arcade Counterparts!

Inspired by a comment/request from viewer @teddym2808 , I wanted to go back to a video I did a few months back where I compared SNES and Genesis titles that were released on both platforms. Today, though, I wanted to switch it up a smidge and do 10 NES games while also showing their arcade counterparts. Enjoy!

1:36 You're wrong about Contra. 😂😂

I bought this game with my brother because it had 2 player co-op but my brother didn't care that much about Contra. I loved it. I would finish dinner quickly to go play.

It took so long to make it to level 5 as a kid but I always had so much fun.

Gyruss was a great port from Arcade to Console on the NES. They even came out with one on the Xbox 360 Arcade that was great as well.

Great video.

One game that I would love to see in a future part 2 video is Guerilla War. I thought that was a really fun game on the NES. I didn't know this was a port of an arcade game.

Trog, Gyruss, Jackal, and Lifeforce (Salamander) are some of my favs not mentioned. I might have to find PacMania now after watching this video!

1943 was the first game that I played all the way through on console as well as the arcade I loved it as a 12 year old

'Dragon Spirit' was my jam back in the day. I played it a ton. I recently picked it up again and was surprised to discover that 30+ year old muscle memory still works. I just cruised along in that game.

Mmm, so much love for NES Super Off Road and the 4-player tap. And of course TMNT 2: The Arcade Game. Such an amazing port.

Some genres just lend themselves better to be ported - shmups especially.

Toki! Buddy, NOBODY talks about that game, and it's an absolute shame! Such a good platformer and one that I absolutely loved on the NES as a kid.

Lots of other fantastic picks as well. This was a great list!

I've had three versions of Contra for the past 20 years. Have yet to pass the first level on any of them. i love that game though.

My favorite port and favorite game of all time period is TMNT II

Despite the arcade having more buttons, I really prefer the NES version of Gun.Smoke. Overall it feels more fair, and the music is actually better, IMO. First time I played TMNT was in the lobby of a movie theater before seeing the TMNT movie for a friend's bday. 4 of us rushed the machine and all got to pick our favorite turtle (Raphael here) I'm pretty sure my childhood peaked that day lol

I always played Raphael. Who were you?
