Game Boy vs GBA Games

There is a way to stack them you place one down then one backwards on top the fowards so the ends stick out and just the middle bit stacks

You can still stack gba games! Turn them around (One game label side up and one label side down)

Nintendo was known for having gnius design, not only for the gameboy games, but also on the SNES controller (AMERICAN SNES CONTROLLER ONLY), the Y and X buttons are indented inwards so that its easier to press x and a/ y and b with you thumb

Work around for GBA, try alternating them when stacking so that the lip acts as a sort of one sided railing. It isn't perfect but it should work.

I think it's because they're so small an indent would make real time clock batteries impossible to fit.

Bro, we all did this back in the day.
And we prefer the game boy cartridge for this BUT, game boy color cartridge had some kind of spells where you always prefer them even more than the game boy advance cartridge.

(This is only about the cartridge, obviously most gba where better than most gbc with some exceptions of course)

When you want to stack gba games you lay one on its back and when you place the next one you lay it label down with the thumb stud on the opposite side of the one it's being placed on. That's how I use to do it.

I'm pretty sure they put Lip instead of the Indent because kids could cram a Game Boy game backwards into the gameboy, i had a gameboy and a little brother ik from experience

Right side up game cart, flip top cart over and upside down, rinse repeat.
