I have a serious issue with any law that presumes guilt and makes it incumbent upon the accused to prove his/her innocence. Also, there has to be a preset period of custody for questioning and bail should be granted automatically after the lapse of the detention period. The process should not be allowed to be prolonged such that the process itself becomes a punishment even without a conviction. In all such cases that do not result in a conviction, the courts should award heavy compensation in favour of the victim at the cost of the prosecution.

This is a very disturbing judgement, how is no one afraid that the executive has so much power in this statute, fundamental rights and individual liberties be damned before this "special" statute. I know that money laundering is a heinous crime and criples the social, economic and polital fabric of a nation and is not to be looked lightly. The manner in which this law is enforced shows glimpses of a Police State(sorry ED officials are not "police" in this "special" statute).
I don't think that the executive is wrong to have so much power, all I ask for is transparency in the mechanism so that we don't live in fear.

Basically uapa also put the burden on the accused. When sc put a pause on that .
Now, this law also put the burden of proof on the accused.
Perfect. In India process is the punishment.

PMLA should be amended to protect the violation of human rights of a person arrested on suspicion, requiring ED to prove whether the suspects have committed a crime or not. No one shall be arrested and questioned on the testimony of an approver. No one should be arrested on suspicion unless ED proves any wrongdoing in court. Otherwise the party in power at the center will misuse the ED.
