We all know that Spiti Valley is a rain shadow region. But, with the recent change in global climate, even the definition of rain shadow region has gone for a toss. Rains and drizzles have started reaching Spiti Valley in monsoon or Spiti in August as well nowadays.

At a minimum, you will see overcast days during monsoons in Spiti Valley which used to be a rarity earlier in this cold desert in the Himalayas. Still, it does not pour heavily as it happens in plains or lower hills.

We are going to spiti in August On a Semi open jeep and A car which side route is safer from shooting stones etc . And can we do camping . And please suggest some camping locations and tips in spiti . And give some more info about temp. In spiti Thanks in advance

We are planning riding during 1st week September, from Chandigarh to Leh via Srinagar and Udhampur Kargil to Leh.
Then from Leh to udampur, pangong, hanle, umlingla, hanle to Leh.

Sir, we will be travelling to spiti in last of july. Will there be Rtpcr test report needed either at the entry of Spiti or at entry of himachal?
Currently we are fully/partially vaccinated.
